FAQ
What is the difference between a Private Chef and a Personal Chef?
A Private Chef typically works exclusively for one client on a full time basis. A Personal Chef has a more flexible schedule and serves multiple clients at any given time. Personal Chefs usually offer packaged multi-meal services such as our Full Fridge Service.
What is the difference between a Caterer and a Personal Chef?
Caterers cook their food in a commercial kitchen and then transport the food to the location where it will be served or consumed. A Personal Chef works on a smaller scale to provide a more intimate and personalized service experience. Personal Chefs always cook in their client’s kitchen.
Can’t you just cook my food and deliver it to me?
No. Due to Health Department regulations I cannot cook off premises and deliver food. Obtaining a permit to do this would require that I apply for a catering license and maintain a certified commercial kitchen.
Your service sounds great, but can I afford it?
Yes! When you consider the cost of groceries, time to plan, shop, cook and clean, then having a Personal Chef is quite affordable.
How long does it take to cook the Full Fridge Service?
Typically it takes 4-6 hours, depending on the menu. This time-frame includes all cooking, packaging and cleaning.
Do I have to be home when you cook?
No. This is entirely up to the individual client. Most Full Fridge clients prefer having the service performed while they are at work. For a Food Party or a Gourmet Dinner, most clients prefer the Personal Chef to be present during the meal.
How does your packaged food compare with freshly made food?
All our food is freshly made! All our dishes are prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients and all the recipes have been vigorously tested to ensure that quality is not sacrificed by refrigeration or freezing.
